BRAVA® FAQs
What is BRAVA?

Brava braces are a completely new approach to orthodontics. They’re not like traditional braces or aligners. Brava’s Independent Movers® technology changes the game because it programs all tooth movement based on each patient’s personalized smile design. Not only is Brava hidden behind the teeth, but it works fast to quickly and invisibly improve smiles. That means easy care and fewer doctor visits because Brava is always working for you.

Why is treatment with BRAVA faster than braces or aligners?
The technology behind Brava is a biomechanical breakthrough because it moves teeth differently than traditional braces. And that’s very important when braces are placed behind the teeth. Using Independent Movers technology, Brava is programmed to improve smiles quickly without monthly tightenings. Brava straightens teeth gently and continuously, working sight unseen 24 hours a day.
Once inserted, Brava works 24 hours a day from behind the teeth to improve smiles, unlike aligners that require daily wear and care to complete treatment. Based on complexity, aligners can straighten teeth typically in 20 – 50 stages, but they only work if the patient chooses to wear them. With aligners, each stage requires one week of daily dedicated aligner wear, so success is 100% in the hands of the patient.
Is BRAVA really hidden from sight?
Yes! Brava braces are custom-fitted behind your teeth and remain out of sight during orthodontic treatment. You can share your secret with others, but you control who gets to see the advanced technology behind your smile.
Is BRAVA comfortable?
Like any type of orthodontic treatment, it takes some time to get familiar with something new on your teeth. After it’s inserted, most people adjust to Brava in about two weeks. It’s normal to feel some tongue discomfort and for your speech to feel and sound a little different at first. Remember, once you get started with Brava, there are no painful adjustments or wire tightenings to live through. Now that’s a relief!
What should I do if something breaks?
First, contact us as soon as possible. Send photos if you cannot see Dr. Sagafi right away. The good news is that Brava is still moving your teeth as programmed while you’re waiting for your doctor to fix what was damaged.
